Track 1:  Positive Psychology

Positive Psychology  uses scientific understanding and effective intervention to aid in the achievement of a satisfactory life, rather than treating mental illness. The main focus of positive psychology is on personal growth rather than on pathology, as is common in other frameworks within the field of psychology.

It is a call for psychological science and practice to be as concerned with weakness and strengths as interested in building the best things in life as in repairing the worst; and as concerned with the lives of normal people fulfilling as with healing pathology, the value of positive psychology is to complement the problem focused on psychology that has been dominant for many years.

Humanistic psychology is also included as a psychological perspective that emphasizes the study of the whole person. Humanistic psychologists look at human behavior not only through the eyes of the observer, but through the eyes of the person doing the behaving. Thus humanistic psychology was referred to as the "third force" in psychology.

Track 3: Psychology of Women and Child

Some of the major findings of positive psychology include people are generally happy. Money doesn't necessarily buy well-being; but spending money on other people can make individuals happier. Some of the best ways to combat disappointments and setbacks include strong social relationships and character strengths. Work can be important to well-being, especially when people are able to engage in work that is purposeful and meaningful. While happiness is influenced by genetics, people can learn to be happier by developing optimism, gratitude, and altruism. Positive psychology has roots in the humanistic psychology of the 20th century, which focused heavily on happiness and fulfilment.

The study of learning processes, both cognitive and behavioral perspectives, allows researchers for understanding individual differences in intelligence, cognitive development, motivation, affect, self-regulation, and self-concept, as well as their role in learning. Educational psychology relies heavily in quantitative methods, testing and measurement, to enhance educational activities related to instructional design, classroom management, and assessment, which serve facilitate learning processes in various educational settings across the lifespan.

Humanistic psychology has rejected the psychodynamic approach because of its deterministic, with unconscious irrational and instinctive forces determining human thoughts and behaviors.  Both the behaviorism and psychoanalysis are regarded as dehumanizing by humanistic psychologists

Track 6:  Evolutionary Psychology

Evolutionary psychology is a branch of theoretical psychological approach in social and natural sciences that examines the psychological structure from a modern evolutionary perspective. To identify the human psychological traits evolved adaptations in the functional products of natural selection or sexual selection in human evolution. Adaptationist thinking about the physiological mechanisms such as heart, lungs, and immune system, is common in evolutionary biology. Evolutionary psychologists apply same thinking to psychology, arguing the mind has modular structure similar to that of the body, with different modular adaptations serving different functions. Evolutionary psychologists argue much with human behaviour is output of psychological adaptations evolved to solve recurrent problems in human ancestral environments.

Track 8: Neuropsychology

Neuropsychology is a branch of psychology and neurology that aims to understand how the structure and function of the brain relate to specific psychological processes. It is scientific in its approach and shares an information processing view of the mind with cognitive psychology and cognitive science. Neuropsychology studies the structure and function of the brain as they relate to specific psychological processes and behaviors. It is an experimental field of psychology that aims to understand how behavior and cognition are influenced by brain functioning and is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and cognitive effects of neurological disorders. Whereas classical neurology focuses on the physiology of the nervous system and classical psychology is largely divorced from it, neuropsychology seeks to discover how the brain correlates with the mind. It thus shares concepts and concerns with neuropsychiatry and with behavioral neurology in general. The term neuropsychology has been applied to lesion studies in humans and animals. It has also been applied to efforts to record electrical activity from individual cells (or groups of cells) in higher primates (including some studies of human patients).

Track 9: Clinical Psychology

Clinical psychology is an integration of the science, theory and clinical knowledge for the purpose of understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote subjective and behavioural well-being and personal development. Clinical psychologists provide psychotherapy, psychological testing, and diagnosis of mental illness. They generally train within four primary theoretical orientations—psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and systems or family therapy.

The major strengths of humanistic psychology is that it emphasizes the role of an individual. This type of psychology gives people more credit in controlling and determining their state of mental health.

Philadelphia's central city was created in the 17th century following the plan by William Penn's surveyor Thomas Home. Center City is structured with long straight streets running east-west and north-south forming a grid pattern. The original city plan was designed to allow for easy travel and to keep residences separated by open space that would help prevent the spread of fire. The Delaware River and Schuylkill Rivers served as early boundaries between which the city's early street plan was kept within. In addition, Penn planned the creation of five public parks in the city which were renamed in 1824. Centre Square, North East Public Square, Northwest Square, Southwest Square, and Southeast Square. Center City has grown into the second-most populated downtown area in the United States, after Midtown Manhattan in New York City, with an estimated 183,240 residents in 2015.

Importance & Scope:

International Conference on Positive Psychology is a unique forum to bring together worldwide distinguished academics in the field of neuroscience and neurology, Psychiatrists, public health professionals, scientists, academic scientists, industry researchers, scholars to exchange about state of the art research and technologies.

Aim of this conference is stimulate new ideas for treatment that will be beneficial across the spectrum of Brain disorders.

Conferences, National symposiums and Workshops provide a dedicated forum for the advancement, execution and exchange of information about brain disorders and its allied areas.

Positive Psychology is the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals and communities to thrive. The field is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play. Psychology has traditionally focused on dysfunction—people with mental illness or other psychological problems—and how to treat it. Positive psychology, in contrast, is a relatively new field that examines how ordinary people can become happier and more fulfilled.

Positive Psychology is an umbrella term for the study of positive emotions, positive character traits, and enabling institutions. Research findings from positive psychology are intended to supplement, not remotely to replace, what is known about human suffering, weakness, and disorder. The intent is to have a more complete and balanced scientific understanding of the human experience—the peaks, the valleys, and everything in between.

Why Philadelphia?

There are nearly 1.5 million people in the city alone. A marketable, educational and culture enriched center, it was the communal and geographical center of the original 13 American colonies.

Market Value on Positive Psychology research globally:

In just 12 years, the Positive Psychology movement has generated 64,000 research studies, 2 academic journals, and an international professional association. Marketers and market researchers frequently turn to the field of psychology for both inspiration and conceptual models. The findings of positive psychology offer fertile ground for fresh approaches to marketing and advertising. Research in positive psychology reveals that, in general, lasting happiness does not come from more money or more "stuff" or the pursuit of hedonistic pleasures. Rather, lasting happiness is the result of an engaged life, one with close social ties and one that is motivated by values and goals larger than oneself. Traits such as mindfulness, generosity, forgiveness, and compassion, among others, are associated with happiness.

Market Growth of Positive Psychology research in the last and upcoming ten years

Positive psychology has flourished in the last 5 years. The success of positive psychology has a flip side. The research has advanced alongside the mushrooming of a hungry popular market for guidance on what "happiness" really is and the tools—called "happiness interventions" in the lingo—that help people achieve it.

Products manufactured by the industry related to Positive Psychology Research and its market Value
